Keeping Our Charity Partners Cool – Solent Mind
The Challenge
At Celsius Hire, we’re proud to support organisations that make a difference in their communities — and few do that as powerfully as Solent Mind. As a leading mental health charity in Hampshire, they provide vital services, support, and safe spaces for people facing mental health challenges. So, when they reached out with a unique challenge during the recent summer heatwaves, we knew we had to help.

The Solution
Solent Mind runs a variety of workshops and activities in a converted greenhouse; a space that’s usually bright, welcoming, and full of life. However, during the summer months, especially with rising temperatures and frequent heatwaves, the building quickly becomes uncomfortably (and dangerously) hot.
Without effective cooling, they faced the very real possibility of having to cancel workshops and close off a space that many rely on for connection, learning, and support.
We were glad to step in. After assessing the space and its cooling needs, Celsius Hire supplied several 3.5kW portable cooling units to help regulate the temperature inside the greenhouse. These compact but powerful units are perfect for flexible spaces like this one — easy to install, move, and manage without compromising comfort.
The Result
The result? A much cooler, safer, and more comfortable environment that allows Solent Mind to continue offering their services without interruption.
Access to cool, usable spaces isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity, especially for vulnerable groups. We’re delighted to play even a small part in ensuring Solent Mind’s vital work can continue without disruption. This partnership is a great example of how tailored cooling solutions can support not just businesses, but also communities and causes that truly matter
“I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Celsius Hire for sorting out the air conditioning. It’s made such a difference! It’s really helped us make full use of the space during the hot weather, and everyone has appreciated the cooler environment.” – Solent Mind
