What is a dry air cooler and how does it work?

A dry air cooler or air blast cooler uses ambient air to cool fluids like water or water-glycol by circulating them through finned coils. Fans pull in air, transferring heat from the fluid, expelling it as hot air and resulting in a cooled fluid. This energy-efficient process, called ‘Free Cooling’, minimises water use and cuts energy costs, making it ideal for process cooling in industries like food and beverage and chemical processing as an alternative to mechanical refrigeration.
