Compact Boiler Hire for a Church near Swindon
The Challenge
The church needed temporary heating, but space around the building was tight. The only realistic spot was a narrow courtyard corner, hemmed in by the church walls, a shed and a well-used entrance door.
A standard containerised boiler wouldn’t fit. Whatever went in had to sit in a small footprint, keep the doorway and path clear and still deliver enough heat for a large, high-ceilinged building
The Solution
We supplied our 150kW gas micro boiler, a compact upright unit built for exactly this kind of site. Its small footprint let us position it tight against the wall in the corner, with the flue rising clear of the building and the entrance left fully accessible.
Our engineers connected it into the church’s heating system using two 10m runs of 2″ stainless steel PN16 flanged hose, with a flanged elbow and butterfly valve at the connection point. Power came from a 25m 16A extension lead with a 13A adapter, so the boiler could run from a standard socket.
Once everything was connected, our team commissioned the boiler on site and handed it over ready to run.
Equipment supplied
- 150kW gas micro boiler
- 2″ stainless steel PN16 flanged hoses (2 x 10m)
- 2″ PN16 flanged butterfly valve and elbow, with gaskets and fixings
- 25m 16A single phase extension lead with 16A to 13A adapter
- Delivery and collection, installation, commissioning and de-install
The Result
The church had reliable heating without giving up its courtyard or blocking the entrance. The compact unit sits neatly against the wall and keeps the space usable for the congregation, staff and visitors.
When the hire ends, we’ll de-install the boiler and collect it, leaving the courtyard as we found it. Accidental damage cover was included on the hire.
“Space was the deciding factor on this one. The micro boiler gave the church the output it needed in a corner most units wouldn’t fit, and the team made a tidy job of the install.” – Andrew Moss
Sector spotlight: boiler hire for churches
Churches are often large, high-ceilinged buildings on tight historic sites, with plant rooms that weren’t designed for modern kit. Temporary boilers keep services, events and community groups running while heating is repaired or replaced.
We typically support churches and places of worship with:
- Compact boilers for courtyards, corners and other restricted spaces
- Breakdown cover to restore heating quickly when old plant fails
- Planned replacements, keeping the building warm while new plant goes in
- Sensitive positioning that respects historic buildings and keeps entrances and paths clear
- Full installation and commissioning by our engineers, so volunteers and staff don’t have to manage the kit
