Portable Heater Hire: Electric Fan Heaters to 300kW IDFs

Celsius Hire supplies portable heaters from 3kW to 300kW, in electric and oil fired options, to sites across the UK. We deliver from our depots in Eastleigh and Heywood, and our engineers can spec, install and support the kit for the length of your hire.

Most portable heating jobs come down to two questions. What power do you have on site? And does the space need fume-free air? The answers usually point you to one of our two ranges:

Not sure which you need? Book a free site survey and one of our application engineers will come and take a look.

Electric heater hire

Electric fan heaters produce no combustion gases, so they work well indoors and in spaces with limited ventilation. There’s no fuel to manage. You plug them in and they run.

HeaterBest for
3kW Fan HeaterOffices, welfare cabins and small rooms. Runs off a standard 13A plug.
18kW Fan HeaterWorkshops, classrooms and mid-sized spaces
18kW Upright Fan HeaterNew to the fleet. The same 18kW output in an upright unit for tighter floor space.
42kW Fan HeaterWarehouses and large industrial areas. Needs a 63A 3-phase supply.

You can hire any of these in multiples to heat bigger areas. The larger units take flexible ducting on their outlet spigots, so you can direct warm air exactly where it’s needed. If site power is tight, we can add a generator and power distribution to the package.

The same range also includes our 3.5kW rack mounted and 20kW floor standing heat load emulators. These do a different job: they simulate IT load for data centre heat load testing rather than heating a space.

Oil fired heater hire

For bigger spaces, our indirect fired heaters (IDFs) are usually the answer. They burn diesel in a sealed combustion chamber and flue the exhaust away, so you get clean, dry heat that’s suitable for occupied buildings.

The range now runs from 70kW up to 300kW:

The 300kW is new to the fleet and built for bigger spaces and bigger heat loads. It moves a high volume of air through two 500mm outlet ducts, and you can set it up to recirculate air if the job needs it. Like the rest of the range, it’s easy to install, simple to run and straightforward to maintain.

We supply IDFs for warehouse heating, drying out on construction sites, marquees and temporary structures and shopping centres. They only need a small electrical supply to run the fan and burner, which makes them a good fit where site power is limited.

You can take them on dry hire or have our engineers install them. Either way, we pair them with fuel tanks and ducting to suit the site, and our team is on call 24/7 throughout the hire.

Electric or oil fired?

If you’re weighing the two up, this is roughly how we’d call it.

Electric usually makes sense when:

  • the space is enclosed or poorly ventilated
  • you have enough power on site, or can add a generator
  • you’re heating offices, classrooms or smaller areas

Oil fired usually makes sense when:

  • you need a lot of heat from a single unit
  • site power is limited
  • you’re heating a warehouse, marquee or open construction space

Plenty of jobs fall somewhere in between. Give our team the floor area, the target temperature and what power you’ve got, and we’ll recommend a setup.

The kit that goes with it

A heater on its own rarely covers the whole job. We stock the ancillaries to complete the package:

Need something bigger?

If portable heaters won’t cover it, or you need wet heating and hot water, we have larger options across the fleet.
