Back when Celsius Hire started the directors; Neil, Lee, Jake and Luis did EVERYTHING! From answering the phones, installing the kit, deliveries, invoicing… and everything in between! It was certainly a proud moment and a huge milestone when it came to the time of taking on their FIRST employee… Chris Brown! They had known Chris for years prior having not only worked with him in previous employment but also his reputation within the industry was second to none. Taking Chris on was a ‘no brainer’ and ever since he has been a complete asset to the company!
But don’t just take it from us!!
To celebrate our very first employee we asked the team a little about Chris Brown:
A message from Sean:
“I’ve known Chris since 2014, back when we were working at different companies; long before either of us landed at Celsius. Celsius is only six years old, and having Chris as our first employee set the tone for everyone who followed. I reckon he’s taught me more than anyone else in the industry, his knowledge is incredible. Others have taught me plenty along the way too, but Chris really knows his stuff, niche fixes, complex installs, whatever it is, he’s got you.
If you want to know what kind of engineer Chris is, here it is: if he’s on site with me, I don’t worry about a single thing. Not one. I know it’s completely under control before I’ve even asked the question. That’s rare. Most of us need a bit of help or guidance now and then, Chris just gets on with it and somehow makes it look easy.
And it’s not just the big jobs either. Pulled over in a service station, in the depot, kitchen table…. laptop open, sorting something out because someone needed him. He’s got expansive knowledge; from my washing machine playing up at home or a 2MW cooling package going in on site, the effort is exactly the same and he’d be the one I call. He’ll drop everything and help, no fuss… just gets stuck in.
Over the years he’s gone from a colleague to a genuine mate and five years in at Celsius; I don’t think there’s a single person here who’d disagree with me. We are honestly lucky to have him. Happy anniversary Chris, here’s to many more.”
A message from Neil:
“I first met Chris in 2009, he was building an ice rink and had hired a chiller. He was young and fresh in the industry back then, all enthusiasm and not much else, and there were some setting up issues that needed a more experienced eye. I quickly sorted it all out and left site with the chiller running perfectly.
A year later Chris joined our team at the company we worked for (prior to Celsius Hire). I had considerably more experience than Chris but already he was considered to be the up and coming engineer within the company!
In the blink of an eye Chris had caught up with me and overtaken me in terms of skill, understanding and ability in our field. I never caught him up and he remains the best engineer in our industry I have ever met.
With great ability often comes a few quirky characteristics and Chris is no exception, he walks too fast everywhere, and paperwork to him can always wait.
Chris Brown is brilliant, he’s my friend, and my colleague. His contribution to the growth of Celsius Hire and our successes cannot be overstated, his commitment to our customers is unrivalled. Being able to bring him along on the Celsius Hire journey as our first employee is something I’m incredibly proud and privileged to have done, and I am so pleased that he has reached the five year mark here.”

I had the pleasure of working with Chris at a previous company and can confidently say that his attitude, professionalism, and technical abilities are second to none. Chris is approachable, helpful, and always pleasant to work with, making him a valued colleague and trusted engineer.
Chris travels across the country installing, fault-finding, servicing and commissioning our hire fleet. His dedication is reflected in the long hours he puts in, often leaving home before dawn and returning well into the evening to ensure customers receive the support they need. You never hear a grumble or moan; but always a ‘happy to help’ response. Dedicated is probably an understatement!
His practical expertise, problem-solving skills and commitment to customer satisfaction make him an exceptional engineer and a real asset to Celsius Hire.

A message from Geoff:
I have known Chris for a very long time; even before working for Celsius Hire and I have fond memories of seeing him come to the yard, having a laugh and hearing how his week has been. It’s not often you see him in the yard because he’s often busy attending customer sites, but it’s always a pleasure when you do!
He is a very helpful person and is always willing to give up his time to help his team achieve a goal, but we all know him as a bit of a ‘Mad Scientist’ within the company… always creating and inventing new things to improve or make life easier.
His heart is in the right place and we are lucky to have him at Celsius Hire!
He has a big impact on us all; to reach five years with the company and watch it grow must be an achievement on its own.
